As recently announсеd by the UAE Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, effective 3 October 2022, all newly issued and/or renewed visas will have a validity of 2 years maximum (previously up to 3 years).

The said visa validity change will apply to the following permit types:
- Investor visa
- Employee visa
- Dependent visa

Any ongoing 3-year visa applications currently in progress will be automatically converted to the 2-years’ validity, without the need to re-apply.

It is worth noting, however, that the expiration dates of all valid 3-year visas issued or renewed before 3 October 2022 will not be affected.

Please also note that the overstay immigration fine is now increased to AED 50 per day.
